This past weekend South by Southwest musical festival went down! We have a new series here at Cultureshockmag.com where you can actually get the viewpoint of the artist that are on the grind and performed at the famed SXSW. Instead of hearing from us you will actually get the experiences of those who ripped the stage in Austin, Texas. We will open up the blogging doors for these artists to describe what it was like to be on one of the largest stages for up and coming as well as established artist.
Wednesday
DJ Yella.
The 1st SXSW showcase I got to check out was Yela Wolf. His performance was "crunk" there is no better way to describe it. The energy level was through the roof and he just commanded your attention. Next I had to set up for allhiphop.com's Best in TX showcase. I had the pleasure of being the house DJ for the night and also DJing sets for Fat Pimp, Dorrough, and Trae. The Paul Wall and Chamillionaire reunion on stage was a monumental moment for TX Hip-hop fans.
Thursday
The Smoking Section featuring Pill, Pac Div, J. Cole, Wiz Kalifa, and Freeway was a pretty "cozy" venue which made for some very good sets for this afternoon show. Later that evening I got the pleasure of seeing Mistah Fab perform. He turned Austin into The Bay for about 30 min w/ by far one of the best performances from this year's festival. After that I still had time to catch 8-Ball and MJG rock out with a live band.

Friday
I got to check out the "We put the A in Austin" Atlanta showcase for a little bit and got to see a guy by the name of STS (I'm now a fan) then I went to the Loft party and Theopolis London took the stage (I'm also now a fan) after Theopolis Pac Div and The Cool kids proceeded to shut the stage down. After that Estelle and her band put on a show at The Digiwaxx party followed by Talib Kweli until the sound man cut his set short. The next show was Wiz Kalifa and Curren$y, needless to say it was a very "cloudy show"
