Nothing worse than arriving to an event and your phone dying after one hour of great networking. Make sure you pack a charger with you in case this happens. Also, it's great to have a Twitter and a Twitter App, & make contacts & build relationships with someone by instantly tweeting them at the palm of your hands.
As many say, "Time is of the essence", which means be on time for anything and everything, no matter how late the event may start. This keeps you one step ahead of the game, no telling who is watching you across the room & notice your promptness to the event. After all,
"Time is money."
At events such as the SEA's, there are plenty of exec's and industry people in the building, and it's always great to have all of your contact info in one place.. a business card! Also, cards with pictures are creative designs stand out to artists and industry exec's at the end of the night, when they're pockets are full of cards just like yours.
